During the session, Dr. Samir RACHIDI elaborated on the main tenets of the national Hydrogen Road Map and how it fits into the industrialization plan for Morocco, focusing on the creation of new industries such as methanol, synfuel, and intermediate product steel.

Furthermore, Dr. RACHIDI discussed the key lessons learned from the implementation of the Hydrogen Road Map, highlighting the importance of updating the roadmap and adapting the ambition level to the reality of the situation.

Last but not least, this panel was also the opportunity for IRESEN to shed the light on the Hydrogen Oasis Concept of Morocco, consisting of integrated industrial clusters for the production, the handling, the conversion the use, and/or the export of competitive green molecules. Taking into account as well a deep vertical industrial integration relatively to dessalination, solar panels, wind turbines, electrolysers, and green (heavy) chemistry: methanol, eFuels, Green Steel, etc. In an effort to colocalize a resilient green regional industry, in the EU-Africa region.
