GREEN HYDROGEN SUMMER SHCOOL & HACKATON
The « Green Hydrogen Morocco Camp: From Theory to Action » concluded in Benguerir, Morocco. This pioneering event, the first of its kind in Africa, saw seven teams tackle the challenge:
Participants, supported by experts including Frank Wouters, Samir RACHIDI, and Hatim Ksissou, delivered:
A spatial master plan for production and infrastructure.
A roadmap for a sustainable ammonia economy in Morocco.
Techno-economic analysis for green ammonia in 2030, 2040, and 2050.
Proposals for safety protocols and regulatory frameworks.
Evaluation of green ammonia as a fuel in Morocco.
Projects were judged on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and impact. H.E. Ms. Leila Benali, PhD., Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, invited the three finalist teams for a meeting to discuss their projects.
Finalists will undergo a summer mentorship program, refining their projects to present at the « World Power-to-X Summit » in October, organized by IRESEN – Institut de Recherche en Énergie Solaire et Énergies Nouvelles. The MED•GEM Network, funded by the European Union, will offer the winning team a study trip to Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in Germany.
